Beauty Marks - Bare Minerals

There are moments that matter in a woman's life - Her first date, first kiss, the day she graduated from college, the day she got married, the day she finally found a foundation that matched her skin tone...Wait, what?  Yeah you read that right.  Being super fair and lightly freckled, I've always struggled with finding the right powder of foundation to match my skin tone.  Additionally, my skin is sensitive and doesn't react kindly to heavy foundations.  But as soon as I started using bare minerals, all that changed.  I am a huge fan and big believer in their foundations, mineral veil and illuminating powders and eyeshadows.

That's why I wanted to share this live stream from Creator of bareMinerals, Leslie Blodgett, and Celebrity Makeup Artist, Fiona Stiles.  [Beginning at 12 noon PST]  Leslie & Fiona will show us how to get Red Carpet Ready (I do live in Beverly Hills after all) and introduce you to their new bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation.

Enjoy!

Beauty Marks: Garden Romance

One of my favorite ballets is The Sleeping Beauty.  I love the story, the music, Petipa's choreography and the costumes, but my favorite part is the Rose Adagio.  Something about that particular scene just makes me swoon - it's so elegant, beautiful and romantic!

Here are a few of my favorite makeup products to use when I'm in the mood to look rosie and sweet, just like Aurora, but I want a dash of theatrical romance to my look as well!

1-Revlon Airbrush Foundation in Vanilla
2-Sephora eyeshadow in Marie
3- Nars The Multiple makeup stick in Orgasm
4-Maybelline eyeshadow in Antique Jade
5-Tarte LipSurgence lip tint in Enchanted
6-Maybelline Full n' Soft mascara in very black

Beauty Marks: Beachy Keen Makeup

Right now, I'm really loving make up that's light and feminine in soft peaches and sparkly neutrals.  I want to create a warm glow with my makeup that harkens back to summer days spent out on the beach.  Here are my top picks for achieving this easy, breezy look:

1- Hourglass Sheer Cheek Stain in Petal
2- Benefit Hello Flawless pressed powder in Ivory
3- Bare Minerals all over face powder in Pure Radiance
4- MAC lipstick in Out-Minxed
5 - Maybelline eyeshadow in Pink Petal
6- Neutragena Glow Sheers tinted moisturizer in Ivory to Fair
7- CO Bigelow Lemon & Pomegranate Lip Cream

Beauty Marks: Beauty Bash

I've decided to start a new feature called Beauty Marks.  Cause why the hell not?

To be honest, I have never been that into makeup, mostly due to laziness.  I hate spending too much time fixing my face and I loath having to wash my face at night.  I am not even all that sure why I resist it, but I do.

But lately, I've been noticing that my skin needs a bit more TLC than before.  I guess this is just part of getting old.  So I've been taking a bit more time and putting a bit more effort into caring for my skin.   I've also started playing more and more with new makeup.  Actually, I've been having a great time playing with new blushes, lovely lipsticks and bright eye shadows -- It gives me a bit of a boost when I feel like I am putting my best face forward (so to speak.)  So I plan on sharing some of my makeup tips and finds, direct from one girl who doesn't really like to wear makeup to...well,  you.

So to kick this off, I want to invite you all to a special Beauty Bash, courtesy of Mark and the Slice of Lime Foundation.

From March 26-April 15, all proceeds from anything you buy on Mark's website (provided you use the link and coupon code below) will go to Slice of Lime Foundation!  Slice of Lime is a wonderful organization my dear friend Lauren started to help raise money and awareness for Leukemia & Lymphoma, so your beauty purchases will benefit a really great and important cause.  Here are some of the products in my shopping cart now...

So what are you waiting for?  Get shopping and let's all get beautiful!
